What Rithmic provides and how platforms connect to it

Rithmic carries futures data and orders between the exchange and your platform. One budget and one ES order show how Liquivue and others connect to it.

SHORT ANSWER

Rithmic is a futures data and order routing service that brokers and prop firms give their clients. A Rithmic login sends a platform trades, market depth and, with the right entitlement, order-level data. It also carries your orders and fills. Liquivue connects to Rithmic directly or through the NinjaTrader bridge, and data fees sit outside the €20 Liquivue licence.

What Rithmic provides is the connection between a futures exchange and the platform on your screen. Rithmic is a data and order routing service. Brokers and prop firms issue Rithmic logins to their clients, and a platform such as Liquivue uses that login to receive data and send orders. This note sets out what travels over the connection, prices one month of it from a published broker schedule, and follows one ES order from the Liquivue DOM to the exchange and back.

What a Rithmic connection carries

A Rithmic login carries three kinds of traffic.

  1. Market data. This covers trades, the book by price, and order-level data where your account has the entitlement. Order-level data, also called market by order, lists each resting order in the book on its own.
  2. Orders. Your platform sends new orders, changes and cancels over the connection, and Rithmic routes them to the exchange.
  3. Account updates. Fills, working orders and positions come back over the same connection.

Rithmic does not decide what you see on screen. The platform draws the heatmap, the DOM and the charts from the messages Rithmic delivers. Two platforms on the same Rithmic login can still show different charts, because each one chooses its own settings.

What a month of Rithmic costs, a worked example

The platform licence, the Rithmic user fee and the exchange data are three separate charges. The figures below come from AMP's June 2026 nonprofessional schedule, which this site uses as one example. Your broker's schedule can differ.

ItemMonthly amount
Liquivue licence after the 7-day trial€20
Rithmic user feeUS$25
CME depth, one exchangeUS$17
Total before routing and commissions€20 plus US$42

Routing adds a charge per side. AMP lists US$0.10 per side for Rithmic routing. A trader who makes 10 round turns a day with 2 contracts sends 4 sides per round turn, or 40 sides a day. Over 20 trading days that is 800 sides, or US$80 in routing. Commissions and exchange transaction fees come on top. The note on CME data fees for a retail trader covers the exchange side of the bill, and the costs page compares platforms.

The total stays in two currencies, because Liquivue bills in euros and the broker bills in dollars. This site does not convert them.

One order over the connection

All numbers below are invented. At 10:20:05 you click to buy 2 ES at 5,040.00 on the Liquivue DOM. ES is the E-mini S&P 500 future, where one tick is 0.25 points.

  1. Liquivue sends the limit order to Rithmic.
  2. Rithmic routes the order to CME.
  3. CME accepts the order, and the acknowledgement comes back. The Liquivue DOM shows a working order of 2 at 5,040.00.
  4. At 10:21:40 a seller hits the bid. CME fills your 2 contracts, and Rithmic sends the fill back.
  5. The Liquivue position panel shows 2 long at 5,040.00, with P&L and the fill.

The trade also arrives over the market data side as an ordinary trade message. A bubble prints at 5,040.00 on the Liquivue heatmap, and CVD moves down by 2, because the seller was the aggressor.

Connecting directly or through NinjaTrader

Liquivue offers two routes to futures data. The first is a direct Rithmic login from your broker or prop firm. The second is the NinjaTrader bridge, which reuses the data NinjaTrader already receives, so you do not need a separate Rithmic login. The bridge needs NinjaTrader 8 on Windows and Chrome or Edge on the same computer. Liquivue states that live account acceptance over the bridge is unverified, so start in simulation on that route.

Connection and session limits apply on both routes. A Rithmic login may not allow two platforms at once, so ask your broker before you run Liquivue beside another platform on one login.

What Liquivue draws from the Rithmic data

Liquivue runs in a desktop browser with WebGPU. From the book data it draws the liquidity heatmap. From the trades it draws bubbles, CVD, VWAP and volume and delta profiles. Trade backfill covers 1 to 96 hours, depending on the provider. Iceberg detection in Liquivue is experimental and needs live CME order-level data, so it depends on the entitlement on your login.

Rithmic on other platforms

  • Bookmap includes one hour of Rithmic backfill and sells a 24 hour option for US$14 a month per exchange. Its marketplace sells nonprofessional Rithmic CME market by order data for US$40 a month.
  • ATAS requires a Rithmic connection for its MBO bundle, which Ultra subscribers get free until 27 November 2026.
  • Quantower has a Rithmic connection setting and DOM columns for market by order data.
  • MotiveWave lists full depth over Rithmic, against about 10 levels over CQG, and shows individual orders only over Rithmic.
  • Exocharts desktop reads Rithmic CME data, and its Rithmic order routing is not yet enabled.

A check you can run

Ask your broker for three numbers before you subscribe: the Rithmic user fee, the depth fee for each exchange you trade, and the number of platforms one login can run at once. Write them beside the platform licence, in the currency each one bills.

Questions

What is Rithmic in futures trading?

Rithmic is a service that carries futures market data to your platform and carries your orders to the exchange. Brokers and prop firms issue Rithmic logins to their clients, and the platform connects with that login.

Does Rithmic provide market by order data?

Rithmic can supply CME market by order data where your account has the entitlement. Bookmap sells Rithmic CME market by order data in its marketplace, and ATAS and Quantower read it over a Rithmic connection.

Do I pay Rithmic separately from my platform?

Usually yes. The broker bills the Rithmic user fee and the exchange data fees, and the platform licence is a separate charge. One broker schedule from June 2026 lists US$25 a month per Rithmic user.

Can Liquivue connect to Rithmic?

Yes. Liquivue connects to futures through Rithmic or through the NinjaTrader bridge. The bridge reuses NinjaTrader data without a separate Rithmic login and needs NinjaTrader 8 on Windows with Chrome or Edge on the same computer.
