Using NinjaTrader as a data bridge for another platform

A NinjaTrader data bridge passes the feed NT8 already gets to a second platform. One ES data budget in Liquivue shows what the bridge saves and needs.

SHORT ANSWER

A NinjaTrader data bridge lets a second platform read the market data that NinjaTrader 8 already receives, so the second platform needs no data login of its own. Liquivue offers this route for futures. It needs NinjaTrader 8 on Windows and Chrome or Edge on the same computer, and Liquivue says live account acceptance over the bridge is unverified.

Using NinjaTrader as a data bridge for another platform means one data login supplies two platforms. NinjaTrader 8 connects to the data provider. The bridge then passes the trades and depth that NinjaTrader receives to a second platform on the same computer. This note prices one ES setup two ways, runs it in Liquivue, and lists what to check before you rely on the bridge. The note on what Rithmic provides and how platforms connect to it covers the direct route.

What a data bridge does

A data feed is the stream of trades and book updates that a provider sends to a platform. Each login to the provider opens one connection, and the provider bills data against that login. This site checked one broker list, AMP's June 2026 nonprofessional schedule. It charges duplicate data fees when one trader runs duplicate usernames.

A bridge removes the second login. NinjaTrader 8 keeps its own connection open, and the bridge hands the data to the second platform. The second platform gets the same trades and the same depth that NinjaTrader gets. If NinjaTrader loses its connection, the second platform loses its data at the same moment.

Two ways to feed a second platform

All account details below are an example. The prices come from the schedules on this site, and your broker's terms may differ.

Alex has a funded NinjaTrader account. Current funded plans include CME Group Level I data. Alex adds the nonprofessional CME Group Level II bundle at US$48 a month, because a heatmap needs depth. Alex wants a liquidity heatmap in a second platform and trades about 200 sides a month.

Route A opens a second direct login. The Jigsaw daytradr manual lists the charges for a direct NinjaTrader Continuum connection at US$10 a month plus US$0.10 per side. Route B uses the NinjaTrader 8 bridge, and the same manual says the bridge avoids those charges.

Monthly lineRoute A, second loginRoute B, NT8 bridge
CME Group Level II bundleUS$48US$48
Direct connection feeUS$10US$0
200 sides at US$0.10US$20US$0
Second data feeBroker dependentUS$0
Subtotal before the second licenceUS$78 or moreUS$48

The bridge saves at least US$30 a month in this example. A second data fee would make the gap larger. Neither column includes commissions or exchange fees, which Alex pays on each trade either way.

The second platform's licence is extra. Liquivue costs €20 a month or €192 a year after a 7-day trial, so route B in Liquivue comes to US$48 plus €20 a month. The costs page keeps each currency as quoted.

What the bridge needs

The bridge has hardware and software limits. Check each one before the trial starts.

  • NinjaTrader 8 installed and running on Windows. NinjaTrader's August 2026 install guide no longer supports Windows 10, so plan on Windows 11.
  • Chrome or Edge on the same computer as NinjaTrader 8.
  • A desktop browser with WebGPU and hardware acceleration turned on, which Liquivue needs for drawing.
  • An active NinjaTrader data connection with the depth entitlement you want to see.

The bridge does not run from a second machine. If you run your charts on a laptop and NinjaTrader on a desktop, the bridge route does not fit.

The same ES session in Liquivue

At 9:25 New York time, Alex starts NinjaTrader 8 and connects it to the data feed. Alex then opens Liquivue in Chrome and connects through the NinjaTrader bridge.

The Liquivue heatmap layer draws resting size at each price from the depth NinjaTrader receives. Trade bubbles print from the same trades. CVD, VWAP and the volume and delta profiles count those trades too.

Suppose the feed sends ten price levels on each side. ES moves in ticks of 0.25 points, so the heatmap shows 2.25 points of depth beyond the best bid and the best offer. Rows past that stay empty because the feed sent nothing there. The note on why heatmap depth stops at ten levels explains the limit.

To confirm the bridge passes every trade, compare one minute in both programs. If the NinjaTrader time and sales window shows 3,412 contracts traded from 9:31 to 9:32, the Liquivue volume profile for that minute should also total 3,412. A gap of more than a few contracts points to a session time or a filter setting.

Liquivue sends chart and DOM orders with brackets, OCO and trailing stops. Its session risk controls can flatten positions and lock trading at a set loss. Liquivue states that live account acceptance over the bridge is unverified, so Alex runs the first week in simulation. Liquivue lists iceberg detection as experimental, and it needs live CME order-level data. This site has not verified that the bridge passes order-level data, so do not count on iceberg markers over this route.

How other platforms use NinjaTrader data

NinjaTrader has its own depth view. Order Flow+ includes the Market Depth Map, which needs Level II data, so Alex could stay inside one program. Jigsaw daytradr also accepts an NT8 bridge, but Jigsaw says the bridge does not supply data for its native charts. Before you pay for a second platform, check which of its views the vendor says the bridge supplies.

A check you can run

Open your NinjaTrader account statement and write down every data line with its monthly price. Then list each platform on your computer that logs in to a data provider by itself. Any platform on that list with its own login can bring a second data fee.

Questions

What is a NinjaTrader data bridge?

A NinjaTrader data bridge is a connection that passes the data NinjaTrader 8 receives to another platform on the same computer. The other platform draws its charts from that data and does not open its own login with a data provider.

Does a data bridge stop you paying for market data twice?

It can. A second direct login to a data provider can bring a second set of fees, and the bridge reuses the login you already pay for. Broker schedules differ, so check yours before you count the saving.

What does the Liquivue NinjaTrader bridge need?

It needs NinjaTrader 8 running on Windows and Chrome or Edge on the same computer. Liquivue also needs a desktop browser with WebGPU and hardware acceleration turned on.

Can you trade live through the Liquivue NinjaTrader bridge?

Liquivue lists chart and DOM order entry, but it states that live account acceptance over the NinjaTrader bridge is unverified. Start in a simulation account on that route and confirm with your broker.
